SATURDAY 9TH JULY - LIVERPOOL
This weekend me and Lisa went up to Liverpool for the British Gymnastics Championships... We stayed in Birkenhead across the Mersey from Liverpool. Here's Lisa on the famous Mersey Ferry....
Lisa and the Liver Building. Attention! The Albert Dock and the sea front has been developed and there was plenty going on....
Liverpool Tate Gallery. Lisa's feeling a bit small.
Lisa checking out the Weeping Woman...
This is the Echo Arena, where the Gymnastics is taking place, and the Liverpool Eye (big wheel). It's all part of the Docklands development...
The Women's British Gymnastics Championships. Lisa was very excited at the prospect of seeing Beth Tweddle...
Here she is. The star of the show. Beth Tweddle, three time World Champion, on the floor...
Here are the Gymnasts receiving their medals. Beth Tweddle had the best scores on floor and uneven bars. The overall champion was Hanah Whelan...

Outside we bumped into the one and only Beth Tweddle. Here is Lisa rather star-struck...We had a ride on the Liverpool Eye, the big wheel. Great view west towards the mouth of the Mersey. The Albert Dock is below, with the Liver Building in the distance...

Lisa on the Liverpool Eye...SUNDAY 10th JULY - MORE GYMNASTICS

The Gymnastics Aparatus Finals. The seniors lining up for the uneven bars...
The medal winners on the uneven bars...
Afterwards Lisa met the Senior GB Team, they all signed her programme... I think someone is happy....maybe a future GB gymnast!

On the way home we stopped at Tarporley. This is where Karen grew up. We had dinner in Karen's old local, the Rising Sun. Excellent food too!
What a brilliant weekend :-)
