MTB Shipwrights Way

We celebrated the first day of the Le Tour de France with our own Le Tour De Shipwrights Way.  We caught the train to Liphook and cycled back to Emsworth via Liss, Petersfield and Rowland's Castle.  Here are Chalkie, Geoff and Joel on the Foley Estate near Liphook with Lord Strathnairn...
A spontaneous late morning stop at the Deer's Hut.  Off-plan but very nice...
The Shipwrights Way is the ancient Tudor route of oak transported from Alice Holt Forest down to Portsmouth Dockyard.  The oak was used to build ships like the Mary Rose...
I think Chalkie is happy to reach the Harrow Inn at Steep.  Cracking little pub...
Lunch...
Negotiating some of the local wild life...
Ice-creams in Petersfield...
My ice-cream is bigger than Joel!
The steeeeeeep hill out of Buriton...
When we arrived in Rowland's Castle they had a put on a party for us.  I think.  There was even a Michael Buble inpersonator!?
Great Trip.  Top organisation from Mr Bartlett.
