Boringdon Hall +25

It's 25 years (almost) to the day that we had our End of Course Ball at Boringdon Hall for BSc Computing and Informatics at Plymouth Polytechnic.  We were the Class of 1988.  The 1988 pictures are here.. http://www.dannykarenlisajoe.blogspot.co.uk/1988/06/boringdon-hall.html

We met at Boringdon Hall this weekend to remember all our great times at Plymouth Poly.  Here we are on the steps of Boringdon Hall : Trish, Alan Holmes, Rob Larsen, Jasmine Larsen, Julie (Corpse) Rose, Alex Mackman, Kate Mackman, James Allen, Zoe Davies, Helen Baddock, Danny Fellows and Karen Fellows.  Out of shot...Jon Goddard, John Melbourne.
Some of us met down at the Barbican for some lunch.  Here we are on the Mayflower Steps : James, Karen, Rob, Jasmine, Alex, Kate and Helen...
Up on the Hoe.  Classic Plymouth weather...
We had a walk round the University Campus.  The Engineering block on the left has been clad in grey.  Lots of new buildings...
The famous GTB is now called the Babbage Building and no longer looks like a punch card?!?!?
We had a look inside the GTB, sorry Babbage Building.  Rob and Alex checking the old CandI noticeboard...
We saw this poster on the wall in the GTB.....Is this Brain Mushens??
After a walk down memory lane in Plymouth we met up at Boringdon Hall for dinner in the same room where we had the End of Course dinner back in 1988...
The gals - Zoe, Julie, Helen and Kate...
Getting stuck in.  Mr Goddard smiling for the camera :-)
T'old Holmes wit lasses...
What a great weekend.  It was brilliant to see everyone, have a laugh and retell all those old stories.
On sunday Me and Karen had a wander about on Dartmoor....in the rain of course. Here's Karen heading down into Postbridge...
Cheers All.  Thanks for making it a top weekend and look out for CANDI FEST 2014 :-)

Coalie Old Boys v Heroes FC

Today the Coalie Old Boys took on Del Boy's team The Heroes on the 3G Astro pitch at Bognor Arena.  Click on a picture for a slideshow.
The Old Boys :  Back Row - Duncan Dixon, Sam Wedderburn, Chalkie Farndell, Geoff Bartlett, Pete Nugent, Bran Nicol, Brian Clancy (ref).   Front Row - San Doran, James Laycock, Pat Mattison, Simon Oiller, Danny Fellows, Martin Clark.
The Heroes had some good young players and took a 2v0 lead in the first half....
But, in the second half the Coalie Old Boys showed all their skill and experience and came back to win 4v3!
Pete was commanding in the air as usual...
Simon wondering where all their team has gone...
Great game played in absolutely the right spirit...
Looking forward to the re-match :-)

Lisa Standup Kayaking

Me and Lisa went Kayaking today.  Lisa forgot to sit down!
Standing on the back...

Paella

We finally got round to using the Paella dish that Pete and Julia bought us.  Neil and Marie brought their kids George and Emma round to join in.  Karen cooked up a very yummy Paella....
Paella Picnic.  Lisa, Joe, George and Emma...
The kids playing in the sun.  This games involves throwing a big stone into a bucket of water to see how wet you can get.
Great Paella dish!

Bike-a-Pub-a-Thon 2013

Today was the Annual Lads Bike-a-Pub-a-Thon.  Geoffer, Clivert, Chalkie, Simon and Me.....
After breakfast in Emsworth, first pub was the Woodmancote.  Geoff is bird spotting, while Chalkie is beer spotting :-)
After a swift stop at the Richmond Arms in West Ashling we headed off-road up towards Kingley Vale...
We rode South through Lavant and Chichester.  After a beer or two at Dell Quay we caught the Itchenor Ferry over to Bosham.  The ferry is that little boat in the background.  There were eight push-bikes on it when we came over!
Round the beach to Bosham...
Serious political discussions in the Anchor Bleu.  Or was it football?
After a stop at the Old House in Chidham we headed around the foreshore back to Emsworth.  Nearly home and a bit happy...
Yet another good one :-)
