We headed out to Chamonix today for our annual snowsliding holiday.
Here we are posing with Mont Blanc...
Lisa and Joe togged up ready for the snow...
We spent the first couple of days on the sunny bunny slopes of Les Planards and Vormaine...
Lisa is a very precise skier....Joe is further down in a racing tuck!
Back at the Chalet checking out the view of the Mont Blanc massive...
Joe is ready for another day on the slopes...
Unfortunately, poor old Joe took a fall and twisted his knee. Le Docteur put it in a plaster to be on the safe side. He has stretched his lateral ligament...
His leg didn't stop Joe joining us up at the Aig Du Midi. 3842m...
Here we are watching the Valle Blanc skiers setting off. They ski down the Mer de Glace glacier to the Montenvers Hotel....
Lisa and Joe and Mont Blanc...
After the Aig du Midi we took the cog railway up to the Montenvers Hotel to watch the Valle Blanc skiers finish their trip...
Looking down at the glacier. 100 years ago the level of the glacier would have been by our feet!
Me and Lisa walked down to the glacier and went inside!!!!
A tunnel has been carved in the ice...
Stones and air bubbles have been trapped in the glacier for hundreds of years and carried down from high in the mountains...
Joe looking for the yeti...
Deux Biers :-)
The kids re-enacting the statue of the founding fathers of Chamonix...
The Mountain Guard were on parade...
Lisa reading our injured boy a bed-time story...
Me and Lisa went skiing in Brevent. Here Lisa is watching a paraglider getting ready to fly, with the cable car in the background...
High in the mountains...
"I like chair lifts"
Ice-cream o'clock..
The kids were fascinated with these bird boxes...
Da Lads...
Karen cooked up a fantastic Tartiflete...
Last day, at La Tour...
Lunch in the sun...
Lisa skiing down under the ever-present Mont Blanc...
Last morning. The moon over the Aig du Midi. Taken from our balcony...
Geneva airport...
Spending the rest of the Euros on some essential items :-)
And...we flew over Emsworth...
Great holiday (apart from Joe's leg) we'll be back for more next year...
