World Gymnastics Glasgow

Me and Lisa went to Glasgow for the World Gymnastics Championships.
And we bumped into Louis Smith :-)  With his silver medal!
Crossing the river towards the SSE Hydro....

This is the Women's Team Final....
That's Becky Downie (GB) on the balance beam...
The womens team won the first ever team medal at International Level....
The next morning in Glasgow it was a soggy walk into town over the padlock bridge....
We had a look round the Gallery of Modern Art...
Lisa was very taken with the pile of half chairs and broken mirror purses....
And the orange slanty lines....

Ten pin bowling :-)
The next day we bumped into Kelly Sim, from the GB bronze medal team of yesterday, with her medal...

That evening we were back at the Hydro for the All-Around Final....
No medals for the Brits, but it was a great competition...
Outside there were loads of kids doing gymnastics, so Lisa joined in...
Back to Bournemouth on the FlyBe Turbo prop...
Great trip :-)

Gran's Castle Weekend

It's Gran's birthday!!!  We all went to Longs Park Castle in Wiltshire to celebrate.
Karen, Graham, Lisa, Joe, Rhys, Danny, Megan, Mark, Cadi, Rebecca and Wendy behind the camera...
Longs Park Castle is a folly originally built as a lodge for Rood Ashton House. The house was demolished in 1970, but the castle lives on!

Lisa taught everyone how to play the new version of Cluedo.  I think the knight wants to play...

In the morning we climbed the tower...

We went for a walk round Lacock.  Lacock is an old preserved National Trust village...
The local estate was home to Fox Talbot, one of the founding fathers of photography....

Rhys did a great job of entertaining Joe for the weekend....Here they are watching the rugby....
On the way home we stopped at a playground for Lisa to stretch her legs :-)

Lisa and Gemma Go Ape

Today was the final instalment of Lisa's birthday - a trip to Go Ape.  Lisa and Gemma getting into character... 
Go Ape involves clambering through the trees over a series of bridges, nets, ropes and slides...
Some of them are very high!
