Beautiful Days Festival 2017

It's Beautiful Days!!!   Me and Karen, Peter, Joe, Iris, Lily and Lisa.  Mary and Lola were also there camping with their friends a little way up the hill....
Joe insisted on going to see Stiff Little Fingers.  They were excellent....
Iris and Joe playing with fire in the woodcraft area....
Joe tried the 'wrong bike' (the handle bars turn one and the wheel goes the opposite way) and the spinning ladder.  He didn't win the £20!
Karen and Deborah with a mug of chai...
The kids chillin' on the climbing frame....
Watching Paul Heaton....
Teaching Joe some dad dance moves :-)
Uno in the campsite.  Joe is sitting on the one legged stool he just made....
Me and Joe watched a few random bands in the Bimble Inn....
Feeding the troops pie!
The rainbow came down in the bar!  We went to look for the gold, but the closest they had was cider...good enough for me.
The utterly brilliant Ferocious Dog....
On the big wheel with Joe and Iris....
Hayseed Dixie in the Big Top....
Dan the Hat was there as usual.  The kids love him....
Mudslide!!!
Lisa and Joe dancing to the Levellers...
And Dad....
The fireworks accompanied the last song..."What a Beautiful Day"...
Another great festival.  Time to pack up :-(    How many spotty bags can you get on a pram?
AND....on the way home the car went over 150,000 miles. That's from Emsworth to Beautiful Days 1000 times!
See you next year :-)

Avebury Amberley and Wye

We went spent a few days at Will's in Amberley (they were away on their hols).  On the way we stopped at Avebury to see the stone cricles....
One stone each :-)  This is the outer circle...
Lisa....don't push too hard!
Joe looking at the inner circle.  The people in the background are queuing up for a special moment with a healing angel.  Maybe I should ask her about my dodgy knee!
Joe using the stones for target practice...
We finally arrived at Amberley (after, according to the kids...'looking at a load of boring stones!')
Lisa on the trapeze....
And a swift one at the Black Horse....
The next day we had a trip to the Wye Valley.  Me and Lisa had a paddle down the River Wye from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat.  About 9 miles....
Lisa approaching one of the grade 1 rapids...
We stopped for a rest on the beach....
Approaching the cliffs of Symonds Yat...
Me and Joe went for a walk to pick up the car.  Inspecting a nice teasel display....
Back at the house the kids made whirlpools in the pool....
Joe liked sitting in Reggie's tree house seat...
And watching the cows walking down the road....
Thanks Will and Rachel....great stay...

Brighton 2 v 3 Ath Madrid

Me and Joe went to see Brighton play Athletico Madrid today (after a very nice lunch with Mary, George and Lola :-).
Our first visit to the new stadium...
All the big names were playing...
There was a capacity crowd in of about 30,000. Brighton played well, but Athletico showed their class to win 3v2...
We cycled to the stadium from Woodingdean.  It must be one of the most countrysidy stadiums!!
And then..on the way home...Sunday dinner....yum :-)    (All Joe's idea of course!)
