Flying to Praslin

We are off to the island of Praslin for a few days. Instead going by ferry we thought we would try flying. It turns out that it's about the same price as the ferry. About £5 each way for us residents! Here are Karen and Lisa heading for our plane to Praslin.
Looking from the plane towards Mahe. The islands in the foreground are the five islands of the St Anne Marine Park. Peter & Julia stayed on Cerf Island, the left-most island, for a couple of nights while they were here. In the far distance is Sihouette.
We forgot to take a map with us to Praslin, so we ended up getting lost and found ourselves at Anse La Blague. There was a very nice little restaurant by the beach. We had grilled Job Fish for lunch.
After lunch I fell asleep under a palm tree in front of the resturant while Lisa played in the sand.
Me and Lisa doing a spot of beach combing.
Karen found this dried up crab. Not sure what kind of crab it is. It was about the size of my hand.
Karen and Lisa marching down the beach for a paddle.
Lisa building her seaweed garden very thoughtfully.
On the way to our hotel we stopped in Baie St Anne, the capital of Praslin. The main street was a hive of inactivity...
We are staying in the Villa Flamboyant. It is our our second visit. It is right on the beach and has great creole food (since the new chef arrived a few weeks ago). Here's Miss Pregnant 2008 contemplating a swim...Lisa practising her doggy paddle. The bay is called Anse St. Saveur. It is protected by a reef about a mile off shore. This makes it very calm and very good for snorkelling.

We ate dinner on a table with the four other guests at the hotel. Two of them were a pair of Swedish Arsenal fans. We whiled away the night drinking SeyBrew and chatting about football.
