Victoria

Saturday morning we went down to Victoria to do some shopping. Karen went off looking for a couple of things, and I pushed Lisa (asleep in the pram) round town.
This is a typical example of a shop in Victoria. Every shop seems to sell everything and anything. I bought some bananas from this shop, but it also will sell you a video recorder, a mattress for your bed, a bucket, a bar of soap and even a box of frozen meat! You never know quite what is coming in on the boat, so shopping is always an adventure in the Seychelles.

The veg market. We came all the way to the Seychelles and we still can't escape Man Utd fans.

The fish market.

Cattle Egrets are always hanging around the Fish Market looking for scraps.

We stopped at the beach on the way home to have a dip. The weather has warmed up in the last couple of days (28'C) after a cold snap (24'C). The sea is now like a bath. This picture looks along Beau Vallon beach from our end. The first building is the Baobab Pizzeria. Then it's the Al Mare pub/retsurant and in the distance is the Coral Strand Hotel. We met some of Lisa's friends from school by the Coral Strand Hotel for a play/dip/chat.

Score Flash - I have just listened to the England v Estonia game on World Service. Good win. Now I'm off down to the Docklands Pub to see if England can beat France in the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup. Swing Low Sweet.....
